Welcome to The Crossing’s online presence. We encourage you to bookmark this page so that you can stop back on a regular basis. We are excited that this new interactive format will give us the ability to communicate with everyone on a daily basis. Some of the features include comments (this is where you can give feedback or ask clarifying questions), announcements by categories (ie. if you’re looking for student ministry specific announcements, just click on that category in the sidebar), as well as video capabilities. If you’re new to The Crossing, your next step is Starting Point. This class will help you discover who we are, what we believe, and how you can get connected. This 70 minute class is offered the first Sunday of each month during the 10:00 AM service (10:00 - 11:20). Childcare is provided in our Children’s Ministry. If you’d like to attend the next class, please sign up at the information Table in the Lobby or Click Here to register online. For more information, please contact Sue at 947-2080 ex. 245.

Our next Starting Point class being offered is on December 7th.

Godly Girlfriend’s Holiday Cookie Exchange

Join us on Saturday, December 6th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm for an informal Christmas celebration – a fun time together that will include Christmas carols and refreshments. Bring a dozen of your favorite cookies to exchange. This is not required, but if you bring a dozen or two of your favorite cookies, you’ll leave with a dozen or two of someone else’s!

The location will be at Pam Cornford’s home located at 7557 Gossamer Wind St., Las Vegas. For more information and directions, pick up a flyer in the lobby.

Year-End Giving Information

For your gift to The Crossing to qualify for a 2008 tax deduction, the gift must be delivered, transacted or postmarked on or before December 31, 2008 to The Crossing office.

You can make your gift in a number of ways:

Check or cash
Stocks, bonds or other securities
Real Estate
Estate Gift

Many employers offer a matching program where they will match a portion of your gift to The Crossing. Talk with your Human Resource Department to determine if this is available to you.

2008 contribution statements will be mailed on or before January 31, 2009. If you have any questions or would like more information about giving opportunities, please contact Chuck Hiatt or Cheryl Russell at the church office.

Simple Christmas at The Crossing

Christmas Eve Services
Our Christmas Eve Service Times are December 23rd at 7 PM and December 24th at 2 PM, 3:30 PM, 5 PM, and 6:30 PM. Christmas Eve Invitations will be available Sunday December 7th. These convenient invitations are a helpful tool for you to bring others to our Christmas celebrations. This is a time of year where many of your friends and family are looking for a place to connect. We encourage you to use these cards as a helpful reminder to them of our Christmas Eve services.

Serve

During this holiday season, we encourage you to SERVE and GIVE to others in the Las Vegas community. Many of the organizations we’ve partnered with are designed for families to serve together. To date, over 250 of you volunteered to serve in the month of December at various locations around the valley. It was an awesome response. We’re looking forward to hearing incredible stories of from these opportunities.

It is not too late for you to get involved. If you haven’t signed up, please call the church office for available opportunities.

Give

In addition, The Crossing is once again partnering with Child Haven, to provide Christmas gifts to children who are currently in foster homes throughout Clark County. On December 14th, you’re asked to bring your UNWRAPPED gifts to The Crossing, during any of our 3 services, for distribution to the children. A portion of the gifts received will be donated to the Sunrise Hospital Pediatric Oncology unit.

Join Our Team

Our Children’s Ministry has an immediate opening for a part-time (30 hr/wk) Administrative Assistant. This paid position reports to the Early Childhood Pastor and the Elementary Pastor.

This highly organized, detail oriented individual should love working with people, be able to multi-task a variety of projects, as well as be a self-starter. In addition to the daily administrative duties, this position is responsible for producing creative communication pieces for our children’s events. Experience with In Design, Photoshop and other creative programs, is a plus.

Downtown Outreach - Get Involved!

During these cooler Fall days, we invite you to join our Outreach Ministry to serve the homeless community on the 3rd Saturday of each month to provide a warm meal and a personal touch to those who are less fortunate. Our next opportunity takes place on Saturday, December 20th. There are many ways to serve & you can come for an hour or stay for the day. The outreach takes place from 9 am to Noon. Let’s Shine in 2009! New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and our first three-church event is in the final planning stages. Come and bring a Single friend and join other Singles in celebrating this special evening! This will be a Black-Tie Affair with Sit-Down Dinner, Live DJ and Party Favors.

Tickets are $25.00 until 12/28 and $30.00 at the door. Cornerstone Christian Fellowship is our host church and they are allowing tickets to be purchased by credit card as well. Please make payment to Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. What a deal for dinner and dancing on New Year’s Eve! December 31st from 8:00pm - Midnight

Baptism

Men To Serve at Downtown Outreach

High School Winter Retreat ‘09

Registration is now open for High School Winter Retreat ’09. This retreat will be held at Pondo Pines Christian Camp in Running Springs, CA, January 30th-February 1st. The trip is open to all 9th – 12th grade students. The cost is $165 which includes travel, lodging and registration. A $50 deposit will secure your spot! To register, stop by the Activity Center to pick up a registration packet. For more information about Pondo Pines visit the website at www.pondo.org. This trip also includes a Saturday afternoon ski/snowboard option at Snow Valley Ski Resort! Space is limited so sign up early!
